Your complexities shape our edge.
"Mariner is really a problem solver for us. We throw something out at them. And then they come back with a solution, and we're working hand in hand." - Steve Shaver
About The Customer
With over 100 years of experience in advanced motor design, this Mariner customer supplies the latest innovation to engineer and manufacture the best power tools in the world.
Warehousing
The Problem
Due to the state of the freight industry and increased e-commerce during the COVID-19 pandemic, it was extremely difficult for large retailers and general merchandisers to find warehouse space to hold their inventory. A tool manufacturer quickly outgrew their startup facility in Wilmer, Texas. "[Our company], where we're at in the present moment, is in a very large growth spurt," said Steve Shaver. In October 2021, Steve and his operations needed an overflow facility nearby to help manage the amount of product necessary to service their distribution centers.
The Solution
The tool manufacturer signed a contract for 25,000 square feet in our DeSoto warehouse to act as overflow storage. According to Shaver, after signing with Mariner, product was on the way from their Wilmer facility to DeSoto in less than 24 hours. In addition to storage and staging, our warehousing teams executed value-added services for the shipper, such as monthly inventory recording practices. Between November 2021 and May 2022, the tool manufacturer's footprint within the DeSoto warehouse had grown 125%, totaling 200,000 square feet.

Transportation
The Problem
As the freight market continued to be a challenge for shippers, the shipper needed reliable and affordable transportation of their products to and from theirWilmer facility and the Mariner facility.
The Solution
Mariner's transportation team leveraged their network to bring in dedicated carriers, and the warehousing team hired a yard-jockey solely for the tool manufacturer's account to help shuffle trailers to manage product moves more efficiently.
